Happy New Year Everyone!!

I hope this New Year brings you many blessings, creativity and joy!!

Well, now that the new year has begun, I have officially announced my return to Stampin' Up! My girlfriend and I have decided to partner up and work together.

After almost a year of not being with Stampin' Up! I quickly realized that I missed crafting with other people, sharing what I love with them and helping them unleash their creativity.

From here on out, you will see what projects we will be sharing during our workshops and stamp camps. In addition to some challenges I will participate in.

I can't wait to get my year started!

Now, onto my card. This is the card I made for my family and friends who I didn't get a chance to send Christmas cards out to. I ceased this card from the SU catty pg. 45. I made a couple of changes but I kept the concept the same. For my image, I used an oldie but goodie SU A Cardinal Christmas. I decided not to color the cardinal but instead, I colored the berries in red and added some Crystal Effects. The sentiment I made myself off the computer.

Hello and Merry Christmas to all,

As the year comes to an end, I can't help to think how much I truly miss creating and blogging. I hope to be back more often and continue to inspire you to think creative and be creative.

This year has been the most challenging year I have had both physically, mentally and spiritually. It's been months since I created anything. I have been too exhausted to even think about making something. Then, four days before Christmas, I decided to go into my craft room make some Christmas cards for a few family and friends.

I made about a dozen in a half of this beautiful vintage Christmas card. I distressed, sponged, sewed and colored on this card. I love the way it turned out and it felt so good to make it.

For those who are reading this and wonder where your card is, no need to worry. I'm making New Year blessing cards you are surely going to love.

For my card I used: Stampin' Up! Cherry Cobbler, Close to Cocoa and Whisper White card stock, Deck the Halls DS paper, Bells and Bows stamp set, Fireside Christmas stamp set for the sentiment, Victoria Crochet Ribbon, misc red ribbon, brad, pearls and Copic markers.

Happy Wednesday!!

Today I have the busiest day of the week. I'm off to work, then pick up the kids from school and back to work for our Children's Ministry mid-week program.

I had some time yesterday to surf the blogs and see what challenge I can participate in.

I really love coloring these adorable gals from Whiff of Joy. So, with that being said, Copic Creations Challenge 59 - Saturated Colors was the challenge for me.

I have had this stamp for a while and never ink her up. What was I thinking of!! What I was reading the description for saturated colors, I held onto this quote while coloring. Beverly Ash Gilbert on Saturated Colors. “Saturation is the purity, intensity, brightness of a color. Saturated
colors feel alive … “

Hey there,

It's October and I am hoping to get back to my card making. The kids are back in school and my work schedule is manageable. This summer I worked full time and directed two summer camps. As you can imagine working with volunteers and children all day is exhausting and had no energy left to craft.

Last night while I was browsing to see what challenge to start with, I thought starting with this Magnolia stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps would be perfect.

The challenge at Clearly iStamp is a sketch challenge. This is an easy and simple sketch for anyone.

For my card: I used the Calendula October stamp (now it's a digital stamp), Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White Card Stock, Woodland Walk DS paper, Library Clip, Linen Thread and a drew drop.

I'm Back

Hey there,

It sure has been a long time since I created a card!!! I think the last time I made something, it was for Easter.

I almost forgot how peaceful I feel when I create. I get to spend time with the Lord, pray for my family, for guidance with my job at church and for peace in my heart to accept the things I can not control.

These past six months, I have been challenged to the core both physically and mentally. I had two surgeries, my oldest son was diagnosed with mood depression and anxiety. Just recently, I had to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. Surly, you can understand why I haven't posted anything in such a long time.

As I started creating this card, I used the time to reflect on the things that bring joy to my life. I realized what I was missing was right in front of me. Creating cards to bless other people and writing on my blog.

My hope is to continue to slowly get back into creating my cards but mostly to inspire people with my art and my blog. I hope you will join me each week.

For my card, I used the following: Stampin' Up! Nature Walk stamp set, Craft, Early Espresso and Confetti Card Stock, Linen Thread, Crystal Stickles, Dimensional and Copic Markers.

Hey there,

I woke up this morning inspired and motivated to work on my Easter cards. Just when I started, I received the latest challenge from Clearly iStamp. So I decided, why not. I love those folks there and it's been a while since I played along.

The challenge is all about the Bling. They want to see you use some glitter, rhinestones, Stickles, or any other glitzy embellishment to give your project some sparkle!

For my card, I used My Mind's Eye Glitter Book, Gold rhinestones and I gold embossed the cross and sentiment. Capturing the glitter is really hard to do when you don't have good light. In person however, the card did turn out very elegant.

Now time to see what everyone else has made. Today is a good day for surfing the internet. It's very cold and wet out.

Luau Party

Hey there,

It sure has been some time since I have posted a card. I hope you haven't forgotten about me.

I had to take some time off to heal from another surgery I had in January. These past few months has been by far the most difficult months I have ever had to endure. The time I had to create, I spent in bed resting.

I hope to be able to get back into my old routine. I truly miss creating and sharing for you.

For starters, I decided to start with a simple and cute card. My little Cait's 10th birthday is coming up and she wanted me to make her birthday party invitations. I thought, why not? It will help me get back creating and sharing with you all.

My girlfriends invited me to the Heirloom Rubber Stamp fair this weekend. I purchased so many new rubber stamps!! It's the candy store for rubber stampers!!

This set here is from DeNami Designs. OMgoodness...are these cutest stamps ever??? They were the perfect stamps for Cait's Luau Birthday Party. I purchase a few other sets, but I guess you'll have to come back another day to take a look.

Shabby Bird House

Hey there,

This week I have been laying low and trying to recover from my unexpected surgery last week. I was happy to find my way into my craft room and allow myself to craft a bit.

Today, we are featuring this adorable bird house by Sugar Creek Hollow. Isn't it just the cutest?

I decided to create a shabby birdhouse for my card. I colored the birdhouse using a distress technique by combining different colors of browns and tans. I added the bird, a branch, some ribbon and blue stickles to put the look together. I also did some stitching since it didn't require too much work in my part.

Altogether, I think it turned out pretty good despite me being on pain killers {wink}.

Flutter Butterfly

Hey there,

I hope today where ever you are, you are filled with warmth.

We are digging out from another white out new storm hitting us with 13" of snow. My DH has the job most husbands have today to dig out from the storm. For me, I'll stay inside and in my craft room where I know it's safe.

Last week had to have surgery again so I'm still recovering. I just found yesterday that this is not the end. I have another 6 months of more pain before I get any relief. In two weeks I start Lupron shots to help with the endometriosis. If any of my readers have ever been on Lupron, I would love to hear from you. Please share the good, the bad and the ugly.

Right now being in my craft room is the only sanity I have. This week, I actually made two cards. This card I'm showing you today is for the Flutter By Wednesday White on White Challenge with either a Butterfly, Fairy or Angel.

I decided to use one of Sugar Creek Hollow's newest digi. After I colored the butterfly, I used some glimmer mist to give it some extra shine. I colored two of them and popped one up.

The rest of the card was pretty easy to put together.

Welcome back to another Sugar Creek Hollow Sensational Saturday!! This week's challenge is to make a card using FABRIC.

For my fabric piece , I decided to make a flower. I used the Tattered Flower die from Tim Holtz. Once I put the flower together, I added a pearl for the center.

The image is the Barn Swallow. I used my copics to color then, I added a thin layer of Glossy Accents.

Little One

Hey there,

Well, if you haven't heard already, we got hit with 20" of snow here in Central New Jersey. So, what do you do when you are snowed in? Craft!!

It's been some time since I've been able to craft. It felt good getting my mojo back.

I made this card for a friend in my Life Group. She is adopting a baby boy from Korea and he should be traveling home by an escort as this gets posted. We are all praying for safe travels for the little guy. I can't wait to meet him.

Since today is Monday, I thought to play with this week's Mojo Monday Challenge.

For my card, I used SU Bashful Blue and Night of Navy card stock, Maine Blueberry retired SU DS paper, Misc Noah's Ark stamp and sentiment, pale blue Drew Drops, Copic Markers and Crinkled Ribbon.

Merry Christmas

I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving and are spending some quality time with family and friends. Better yet, getting your Christmas cards done!!

Today, I'm showing you a card I made for this week's Faux Wood Challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow.

For my card, I decided to create a barn door using the Faux Barn Bard technique from Splitcoaststampers. I love this technique and it's so much fun to play with.

After creating the door, I then used the Holly Punch from MS to create my wreath. My sentiment is from Sugar Creek Hollow. I used the Poinsettia Teacup Digi set. It's comes with this beautiful sentiment that I thought was perfect for my door.

Baby Jesus

Hey there,

Well, it's been two weeks since my surgery. I am recovery slowing and glad to be back creating.

The anticipation of this Baby Jesus digi has finally come and I am so glad I was able to create a card this week.

This beautiful image was created exclusively for Sugar Creek Hollow by a young lady in Poland. The scroll was created by our very own Design Team Member Donna.

For my card, I decided to color the baby blanket in blue. I colored baby Jesus and the hay and distress the entire image with my distress inks. I followed the same process for the scroll. I kept the sketch simple.

Laid Out

Hey there friends,

So here is what I was doing on my birthday. Not really exciting but a must. On Friday, November 5th I had a hysterectomy. This is what I looked like the following day (my b-day).

The pain meds swelled up my face and cheeks. They were on FIRE!! My darling husband didn't say anything to me. I kept telling him my face was really hot. The nurse came in and asked why my face was so red. Then when the doctor came in he yelled, "What happened to your face"?!! I was like, "Okay, would someone please give me a mirror"!! So, instead we took a picture so I can see. My DH didn't want to say anything because he didn't want to worry me. He's such a darling!!

Anyway, it's day 6 for me. I've been laying in bed, reading magazines, watching too much tv and finally online. I have caught up on my DT's blogs, visit some of my fav sites, order my winter coat, boots, clothes and of course, checked my work emails.

The meds are making me really nauseous. Today is the first day without prescribed pain meds and I'm doing much better. I have tried everything under the sun to take the nausea away. I have a few more days of bed rest and then 4-6 week for a full recovery with no heavy lifting, cleaning, laundry, sweeping and exercise. I have to take it very easy. I pray and hope I can do my work because there is so much to do. Both and home and church that is!!

Tomorrow, I will see if I can create something. I'll do little at a time but, I can't promise I'll have something to show. I feel very much like I had a c-section and sitting for too long hurts.

Counting My Blessings

Hey there,

These past two weekends, in the kids have been celebrating Halloween festivities at school. Last week they had a Halloween Party at school and yesterday they had a parade and classroom party. Tomorrow is Halloween and I think by tomorrow, they won't want to wear their customs again.

Today, we have a pretty busy day. So, before my day starts, let me show you what I made for today's Sugar Creek Hollow Use Lace Challenge.

I found this technique on YouTube and thought about giving it a try. It's called Faux Glitter Lace in case you would like to check it out for yourself. I didn't use glitter though. I used Pearl Embossing Powder.

Here are the steps I took to create this card:

1. Cut a piece of black card stock at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
2. Cut a piece of double sided sticky paper the same size and adhere to the black card stock
3. Lay your lace over the sticky paper
4. Pour Pear Embossing powder over the entire lace and pat down
5. Carefully remove the lace
6. Use a heat tool to heat the embossing powder until it's all melted

For my flower, I used black ribbon and created a lollipop flower. I used the black rose from the Recollections Halloween Specialty Brad set for the center of the flower. I also used Recollections Halloween Specialty trim.

My sentiment and crow is from Sugar Creek Hollow.

Vintage Flower

Hey there,

Just a quick post today before I take my lil' girl to gymnastic.

I just learned how to make this adorable vintage flower. It's made from white sheen curtain I purchased at Walmart for $4.50. My local fabric store is not that local and Walmart didn't have sheen fabric.

Anyway, I came home at tore the curtain up immediately. No time to waste. Here are the steps in case you would like to give it a try.

1. Cut out 8 6"x5" pieces of fabric.
2. Use Circle Scallop #2 Die and run them through the BigShot.
3. Use 3 plastic cups and pour a few drops of re-inker (I used Marina Mist, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake) to die the fabric.
4. Sprayed some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz over all the colors.
5. Take all the layers and smear them all together so the colors transferred onto each other.
6. Layer over the colors from large to small (don't layer them perfectly).
7. Pierce and add Antique Brad
9. Carefully dry the edges of the fabric with a heat tool from the center outward. As the heat tool gets hot, the material will burn and shrink. Move the flower in circular motion while doing this process. Otherwise you will burn too much and not have even layers.

I made this flower for a card I am working on for Sugar Creek Hollow's challenge on Saturday. The beauty of this flower is that it doesn't have to be perfect and you don't have to spend lots of money to make this. You can use any synthetic material or old curtains you may have hidden in the basement.

Christmas Cardinal

Hey there,

It seems like these days are going by so fast. I can't believe we are near the end of October.

Question is, how many have already begun their Christmas cards? If you are like me, you wait til the very end. However, today I have given myself a head start with this beautiful Christmas Cardinal from Sugar Creek Hollow.

Today's Challenge at SCH is to create a card using the Christmas Cardinal or Primitive Sheep. Since I used the Sheep on a recent card, I decided to use the Cardinal for the challenge.

I colored her with my copic markers R59, R29, R27 and R24. These are my favorite red color combination. Then, I decided to put some Glossy Accent. I put a heavy layer over the entire bird. I used SU Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler card stock. My DS paper was last years Wassail Turtle Doves. I distressed and stitched around the borders. Finally, for some accents, I added a Poinsettia with a vintage brad from SU and velvet ribbon.

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

I don't know about you, but this week sure seemed to have gone pretty quickly.

You know what today is? It's Color Challenge week at Sugar Creek Hollow. The colors are SU Espresso, Baja Breeze and River Rock. If you don't have these colors, you can use similar colors.

For my card today, I used Shabby Deer and Simple Sayings. I copied, rotated and shrunk one deer. It goes perfect with the sentiment. As you can see I cut and layered the words. I also used Tracy's Crinkled ribbon in Robbin's Egg Blue.

Glory to God

Hey there,

Another busy week as gone by and I can't tell you how much I look forward to Monday.

Today, I will be at my community fair. We have over 3,000 people and over 200 vendors. From 7am to 10am, I will be helping the vendors find their spot and help them set up. Then from 10am - 4pm, I will have my own spot. My friend and I have partnered together for the past 3 years. Together, we have 6 make n' takes, card kits, grunge board bracelets, altered art kits, gifts and I will also be selling all the cards that I have posted here.

Now onto today's card...

Today is Sketch week over at Sugar Creek Hollow.

The Design Team was challenged this week to make a card using this sketch.

For my card, I used SCH digital sentiment Glory to God.

I really love the way this sentiment was designed. The font is so pretty. When I saw this sentiment, I thought of a Nativity. I went online and googled Free Vintage Nativity. I thought this one was the best for this sentiment.

Lord of the Harvest

Hey there,

Guess what today is? Yup, you guest it! It's Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow!!

This week, I challenged the girls to make a card using the Lord of the Harvest digi. The entire image (frame, sentiment and pumpkins) is one digi.

There are so many opportunities with this digi. You can make a simple card, a tag, and you can even use it to decorate a gift bag. Take a look at the DT's blogs to the right of the screen so you can see what they designed. You might just find one of each. Then make sure to visit the store site to pick one up for yourself.

For my card, I used some retired SU fall paper. I added some rhinestones, colored the pumkins with my copics, crinkled Tracy's Country Crinkled Ribbon on each side of the card and a prima flower to finish the look. After I put all of this together, I thought something was still missing. If you take a closer look, I added baby blue Stickles on the blue border. Now, I think this puts the entire card together.

You're a Hoot

Hey there,

It's Tuesday morning and normally I would be at work, but since I will be there the rest of the week, I decided to take the day for myself and play along with a few challenges.

This week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge was a lot of fun. I love the layers and the simplicity of it.

The next challenge is for Clearly iStamp. You are to use use an Owl and/or their Habitat . Since I had this owl set from them, I thought I could play along. I used my copic markers to color the owl and branch. For the leaves, I used a mix of colors to go along with the DP.

Well, I better get my day going. I still have beds to fix, laundry to fold and Cub Scouts papers to fill out. Did I mention I am going to be my lil' guys Den Leader?! Yup, you read that right!! We have 8 boys and moms in our Den. This is everyone's first time at scouting. I am co-leading with another mom. It's going to be fun when I have to put my uniform shirt on. I'll make sure to take pictures so you can see. I think I will have to girliefy it first. Is that even a word {wink}. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day.

It's What You See

Hey there,

Can you believe we are in the middle of September already? Time sure does go by fast when you are busy.

Today, we are playing along with Sugar Creek Hollow's Color Challenge ~ Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Riding Hood Red. These are classic colors that never fad in style.

The sentiment I'm using is from Sugar Creek Hollow. It is a set of three Henry David Thoreau quotes for $3. I paired the sentiment with this cute vintage image I found online. I added a small mirror on the bottom of the ribbon.

I don't know about you, but there are things I must do before I leave the house. Fix the beds, curl my lashes and make sure my clothes are ironed. This sentiment reminds me that God doesn't care what you look like. He cares who we are as an individual.

Back to School

Hey there,

The joy of the first day of school has returned. Moms everywhere are happy to send their kids back to school and the kids are excited to start a new grade, see their friends and get lots of homework-----wait, that's not true!!! Well, not the homework part at least.

Today my baby is starting the first grade. I can't believe how fast time has gone. My oldest is in college and my baby in 1st grade. I remember when my oldest started 1st grade and now it's my baby's turn. Let's not forget my lil' girl who's going to the 4th grade!! What's with that?! I remember when I held her in my arms for the very first time. It's days like today, that we get to cherish for years to come.

On to my project...

I couldn't send Jason to school without a little gift for his teacher. So, I decided to make this pencil box holder. I looked high and low for a pencil box template that I didn't have to pay for. Finally, I decided to make my own. It was easier than I thought. The box hold 20 pencils.

I can't wait for the afternoon to hear all about their big day! In the meantime, to all the mothers home without the kids, enjoy your quite time alone!

Room Renovations

Well, I could finally say I'm done!

Hey there, I know most of you have been following my room renovations and wondered where are the final products.

Here is my Craft Room. Very thing is pretty much done except that I have a wall art to put up. I want to do it when the kids are at school. I thought it was going to be an easy project until the tube arrived (you can see the tub on my desk). When I opened it up, I was expecting one big long sheet. Not quite so. All the words are separate. It even came with instructions! Yikes!!!

This is my desk area. The bottom still has work to do but, at least it's organized.

This is a better view of my draws and printer. I have all my adhesive, finger daubers, some punches and paper supplies in the draws.

This is on the right side of my desk. In each crate, I have my glues and paints, my embossing folder and my die cuts. The bottom shelve has my Big Shot supplies.

This is my closet and the shelves my DH bought me. Here I have most of my supplies. Stamps, Embellishments, Punches, Bind-it All supplies, Papers, Scrap Papers and Misc Supplies and Pre-made crafts. On the bottom left of the picture, you can see my sewing machine.

Ahhh, my beloved ribbon rack!! What else can I say {wink}.

Well, well, look what we have here!! Not one but two challenges combined. I must have had some mojo this morning when I woke up {wink}.

It's been days since I have been able to create or even think about creating anything. Yesterday for the first time in 4 weeks, I did nothing but lay by the pool side and enjoyed the sun. I got my mojo back this morning and at 5:30 am I was creating this card.

I decided to try out this week's Mojo Monday Sketch and Color Throwdown challenge.

For my card I used a Valentine's Paper Pack I had from K & Company. I stamped the butterfly (SU Punch Potpourri) three times with Pretty in Pink and used So Saffron for the "rock n' roll" method. Then, I punched them out with my SU butterfly punch and layer them with pop-ups. After arranging my card for the sketch, I decided something was missing so I added the letter J and added some pink glitter.

Now that my mojo is back, I'm sure I'll find another challenge to do over the weekend. Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Hey there friends,

Isn't always nice to be rewarded for all your hard work and efforts? Well, today I've been featured at Clear Dollar Stamps!! Woohoo!

During all my construction and stress between the projects at home and church, I received an email that Lori (Owner) would like to feature me as their August Featured Friend. I couldn't be happier. The thought of having to dig my things out of boxes was a bit scary but, that just gave me the excuse that my room had to be finished sooner than later {wink}. Thanks Lori for the push!!

So, here are some cards I have made for Clear Dollar Stamps. Some you might have already seen and others are new.

As you can see, I am an eclectic designer. I love all styles of cards. From Fun and Cute to Shabby and Traditional.

I discovered CDS by in 2009 while I was browsing through the web. The name Clear Dollar intrigued me, that I had to visit the store site. Anything that said Dollar meant that the prices are low right? Their prices are really great, that it's easy to add a bunch of things to your shopping cart. My favorite stamps from CDS are the Flowers of the Month. They are very pretty and work for just any occasion.

Spackling

Well, here we are, day 19 of our construction.

I'm glad to say that my craft room is all done. This past weekend, my DH and I put the shelves in the closet and I spent the entire evening on Sunday organizing my craft supplies. There are a few things I need to get but, that's all cosmetics.

This morning I woke up at 5am and sneaked into my room to make a card. It felt good to take a break from all the construction and create for a bit.

Today, my FIL finished Cait's closet and put the door frame up. Here I am up on the ladder spackling while my FIL measures the frame for the door. I thought since I had my phone on me, to take this lovely pic of me. No make-up and my hair pulled back. That's my FIL in the back :-)

Tomorrow we get the floor put in. Yippee!! I have one last wall to paint in Jason's room and then his room will be all done. We still have sanding to do in Cait's room so I can't paint her room just yet.

Well, I'm off to soak in the hot bath for a while. My body is aching and I have to rest my arm. Good thing I can't do anything tomorrow while the floors are getting done. Maybe I'll just lay out back by the pool and rest. I think that's a great idea since I have to go to work on Friday to finish the paint job over there. Yikes!!

Progress

Hey there,

Well it's 9:30pm on Saturday and I could finally say there is much progress going on in my house. Since my FIL is still working on the kids room, I decided to put all my energy in my craft room. It's exciting to see one room in the house with some order.

I just finished putting the shades and valances up. Aren't they pretty? They go so well with the colors on the wall. So, let me give you a tour of the almost finished craft room.

This is the view from the door. I ordered the Medium Trés Chic Décor Elements in chocolate brown to go above the bookshelf. The ink rack will go on the wall above my desk. I still haven't organized the bookshelf but this will have the most recent SU stamps.

To the right of the window is my sewing machine. Then, to the right of that is the closet which will be finished tomorrow. My DH bought me a shelving system that will work just perfectly for my things (Inside those boxes are all my stamps and embellishments). My friend had the cleverest idea to store card stock so I ceased her idea.

Next, is my desk which is opposite of the closet. This is work in progress! I have to figure out what I use the most and how I want them organized.

My ink rack will go on the wall and underneath that will be my Copics. I want to put floating shelves on the chocolate wall, but that will have to wait until I have some extra money. Meanwhile, I think this will do just fine.

My New Blog

Hey there friends,

What do you think about my new blog? I am so excited about the new look. There is so much to be excited for these days. A new blog, a new craft room and my kiddies get their own bedroom.

As you can see, I have officially moved to my new room. I went from red to blue. It didn't take me long to want to change the color . After a few days of construction in the kids room, I decided to move the process a little quicker. Today I moved some furniture and boxes out of the way so I can start painting.

The new color is Marina Isle with an accent wall of brown. I can't wait to see the room all painted, decorated and put together just like my new blog.

Day 2

It's day 2 of construction.

Yesterday my FIL and I put the frame up. Today we put the door frame and door up. We ran into a couple of hick-ups but nonetheless, we did it! So they say, "Two minds are better than one".

This is my first time putting a wall up. As a little girl, I watch my father build so many different things. I remembered when he build a lower and bottom deck at his mother's house, a loft bed for my baby sister and a platform bed and wall to wall closet for my parents bedroom. I always enjoyed watching him and couldn't wait to give a project like this a try. I see a missions trip in my near future {wink}.

Working with my FIL has been a lot of fun. I learned to measure, chisels and put a frame up. I look forward to the drywall.

The first picture is a view looking into the second room. The second view is looking out from the inside room.
Each rooms measure approximately 10'x13'. That is the size of our smallest bedroom in the house. After the drywall goes up, the next thing is to add a closet in the inner room, paint, install carpets and my MIL's favorite part, decorate!

Well, I'm off to finish dinner and rest. My brain can't take too much in one day. I'm also working on a major construction in Children's Ministry that will start next week. All your prayers that I can handle both projects, Sunday Children's Ministry and my own house chores without feeling overwhelmed.

Craftroom Renovation

Hey there,

Wow, today I looked at my blog and realized it's been 19 days since I last updated my blog. Long story short, the week of July 19th my church had their VBS. We had 230 kids and 180 volunteers. It was a blast to see everyone together to share God's love to the children of the church and the community. Then the following week, my kids went to my old church for their summer camp. This week, well have you taken a look?

My father-in-law graciously offered to redo this room. This is what we called the "bonus room". It was our multi-purpose room. Playroom, movie room, craftroom and guest room. Take a look at the wood on the floor. We are going to divide this room and make it into two bedrooms. The kids will be moving into their own room once it's done. The size of each room will be bigger than the size of their actual bedroom now. The best part...I get to take their old room for my craft room. After it's all said and done, everyone will have their own bedroom and I get to have my own space!!! For those who have been following me know that it's has been a constant struggle.

So, in the meantime there is no crafting for me. Everything has been packed and put away. This is just 1/2 of my things. I'm still packing and moving things but I wanted you to see my first of many photos to come.

Grunge Paper Bracelet

Hey there,

Today, I woke up with my lil' girl by my side after a week long of her being at Camp Mantowagon. We laid in bed talking about all the activities she did, food she ate and what she learned about Christ. This was her first camp experience and I am sure there will be plenty more.

Here it is... My Grunge Paper Bracelet. I saw this on SCS a while a go and couldn't wait to get my hands on the supplies. This morning after my quite time with my lil' girl, I got up, had breakfast and off I went. This was so much fun and very easy to make. The skies the limit with this one! You can use any color, flower and embossing folder. I already know how I am going to make my next bracelet.

Since this was an easy project, I think I will host a workshop for this bracelet. I think the ladies will enjoy it. Well, I guess it's time to join the family and get started with my day.

Hey there,

We had an early start this morning at 5:00am. Today, I took my lil' girl to camp for the first time. We left at 6:00am to arrive at 10:30am. After the long trip, a few stops, check-in, good byes and the ride back home, I am now resting. No crafting for me tonight. I'm exhausted!!

I did however, managed to craft during the weekend. I have been wanting to make this Faux Leather Wallet for some time now but never got to it. You can find the instructions here. The tutorial is really easy to do and lots of fun to make. Being that this was my first wallet, I am itching to make a few more. For one, I have to find a nicer front snap. I did add a magnet for the inside and it worked well. However, I'm not happy with my little flower. Just doesn't do anything to the wallet.

For my wallet, I used SU Basic Black cs, DS paper unknown, prima flowers, SU brad, misc ribbon and stitching. Follow the tutorial above to learn how to make this wallet. Have fun!

Margarita Lime Cupcakes

Hey there,

Today, I decided to do something different. Last night I was browsing through all the challenges and decided I'd try the Flourished What's Cooking Challenge.

The challenge is to make a stamped summer recipe card. I have never done a recipe card since all my recipes are in a 3 ring binder. I had a few challenges assembling the card, but I think it turned out just right.

For My Card: I used a lime stamp and DS paper I purchased at a local rubber stamp store. I colored the image with my copics. After coloring the limes, I added crystal effects. I also used SU Certainly Celery, Whisper White card stock and the Round Tab punch. To complete the card, I added 4 lime green rhinestones I found in my stash.

For the Recipe: If anyone loves Lime Margaritas, you have to try the Cupcakes. It's so refreshing and perfect for the summer. I got the recipe from The Hostess With the Mostess website. Here's the link for the full recipe. Hope you enjoy it!

Drawer Box

Hey there,

Well, it has been triple digits for the past two days here in Jersey. There is no sign of rain. With so much heat, what is one to do but craft?

Today, after all my work was complete, I went onto Splitcoaststampers and saw the latest tutorial. I just had to try this Drawer Box! It is the cutest thing ever!!! It took me no more than 30 minutes to make the drawer and box. The cards took longer since I made 10 cards. You can fit 10 cards and envelopes in the draw. The knob is a rose I created out of ribbon. I made it weeks ago and didn't have anything to use it with. As I was making the draw, I was thinking of a knob rather then handles shown in the tutorial. I was glad it was at my reached because it worked perfectly.

Well, it's time to go. I have to look thought my SU catty and decide what I am going to purchase. My list is long so I have to trim off some things :0/ Hopefully I can convince my DH to treat me to some new thing too ;o)

Hey there,

I got my mojo back!!! It didn't take me long and all while I was creating, I kept reminding myself how much I missed creating.

Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch and the Clearly Inspired - Gratitude challenges.

For my card, I used SU Perfect Plum, Regal Rose and Whisper White CS. The image is a digital image from Clearly iStamp called Quiet Rocking Chair. I colored and glued the blanket three times to make it 3D. The DP was purchased at a rubber stamp store at visit on special occasions only. I say that because it's 45 minutes away and if it were any closer, I would be in big trouble {wink}. To finish my card, I used Tracy's Crinkled Ribbon in Lilac and some misc pink ribbon. The sentiment is from the same QRC set. Finally, I added a few pink pearls to finish my card.

Hey friends,

I'm back from my family trip to Atlanta. We had such a blessed time. The kids had a blast and the adults enjoyed much needed catching up.

Now that I'm back, I must get my crafting mojo back. I hope to join everyone in some much needed challenges.

I think I will be trying the Cearly iStamp challenge today along with Mojo Monday's challenge. July's challenge is to make a gratitude card. I think I can easily make this challenge!!

Then, I will make a trip to Micheal's to see what's new. I haven't been there since forever! I want to try to make the Grungeboard Bracelet on Splitcoaststampers. Hopefully I find the supplies I need at Micheal's.

Thinking of You

Hey there,

Guess what? It's Friday!!!! It's Fabulous Friday at Sugar Creek Hollow. Every Friday is Fabulous Friday.

It's the end of a long week and the beginning of a fantastic up coming week for my family and I. Tomorrow we will be loading up the car and driving to Atlanta to visit my family. It has been six years since my entire family has been together. My brother came from Germany with his family, my parents also made the trip from Puerto Rico. We will be reuniting at my sisters house in Atlanta.

With every high comes a low. Today is my last post as a Design Team member for Sugar Creek Hollow. For my last challenge to the girls, I challenged them to make a card without DP. Everyone knows that making a card without DP can be challenging. However, if you are creative, you can overcome the challenge and make a card that is simply beautiful.

For my card, I embossed the Mellow Moss CS. I used the SCH Dogwood image and layered it over the oval and scallop oval nesties. I used Tracey's Crinkled Ribbon, a button and some gold rhinestones. I colored the images with my copis. My sentiment is computer generated and punched with SU Modern Label.

Hey there,

Happy Wednesday!!! I am so excited, I have 3 more days til' my trip to Atlanta. My family and I are reuniting after 6 years. My brother and his family are coming home from Germany and my parents are coming from Puerto Rico. We are all meeting at my sister's place in Atlanta. There are 17 of us!!! Eight adults and Nine kids. It's going to be fun!!!!

Enough about me, let me share with you my card for today. I made this card a few weeks ago waiting to share it with you today. This card is for one of my best friends. Her birthday is this weekend. She is my inspiration! Not only is she dynamic in crafting, baking and sewing, she is a beautiful woman and sister in Christ. Happy Birthday Margret!!!

Well, I have so much to do today. I have to take the car in to make sure it's all ready for a 13 hour trip. Then, I have to finish the laundry and tidy up my house. I hope you have a blessed day. Stay cool!!!

The Skies the Limit

Hey there,

It's going to be a Fabulous Friday. The start of the weekend, good weather and a great showcase of some amazing creativity over at Sugar Creek Hollow.

This week the challenge was to Pile it On. We needed to make a card with as many details as we can. For my card, I used Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip CS, DS paper, Sewing, Photo Corner Punch, Drew Drops, Tracey's Crinkled Ribbon, Scallop and Oval Nesties, yarn and Modern Label punch.

My main image is from the Father's Day set Vintage Balloon. I colored the balloon with my copics, cut the balloon out from the basket and added yarn to give it 3D.

I made this card for my son who graduated from high school on Wednesday. I can't believe he is now college bond. This digi set could be used for so many different occasions. Don't forget, Father's Day is this weekend.

Now you might be wondering where is my card right? Well, I've been on strike this week. On Strike? Yes, I've taken a hideous from crafting. You see, my craft "corner" is in the room where my children play, watch tv and guest stay over. The room is a huge mess and I've given up cleaning it until someone decides to pick up the mess first. There are toys, blankets, cups, plates, tissues, game systems, socks my little dog drags along, DVD's and mostly barbies EVERYWHERE!! I simply can not go into the room. So, of course I can't craft. I am highly considering moving my things down to the garage but, then again once the cold kicks in this winter, I will be a frozen Popsicle.

Hey there,

I can't believe it's June already! School is almost out and we are finally enjoying the perks that come with summer.

This week I have had no time to make a card. Luckily, I made 3 last week. Tonight, I will be making 2 more to show you during the weekend.

I am on a kick to learn how to make different paper flowers. These two I made are a Begonia and a Camellia. I used my bone folder to curl the flowers. Then, I sponged the edges. Finally, I added a small pearl for the center. I kept the card simple, clean and elegant. It's a perfect card for anyone.

for this card, I used the Little Girls Dress. I used my bone folder to curl the dress and glue just the tip so that is pops up on it's own.

Today, I made 2 other cards that I will show you this weekend. When my DH came home I showed him what I was working on and he love this card the most. I hope you do too!

Hey there,

So what are your weekend plans? For me, after I finish this post, it's time to finish the laundry and clean the bathrooms. Yesterday, I managed to clean the downstairs, cupboards, frig and do food shopping. Today is upstairs.

Before my madness continues, I decided to post this card I made this week for someone at church. This DS paper is another beautiful paper from Webster's Pages. I distress, sewed and sponged the papers. The Thank You sentiment I generated myself. A simple ribbon and a few pearls finished the card.

Okay, now time for my madness. Gotta go clean!!! Have a blessed weekend!!

May Your Cup Overflow

It's another Fabulous Friday!!!

Boy, is it going to be a beautiful day!! These are the days when all I want to do is open my windows, turn the radio up and clean!!

First, before my crazy self kicks in and start my cleaning madness, I must share with you this weekend Sugar Creek Hollow 'Use your favorite Digi' Challenge.

For my pick, I use the tea cup and tea bag labels. It is such a beautiful teacup and the tea bags are plenty to choose from. I picked the Tranquili Tea. The sentiment I genterated myself. If you look closely at the teacup, I actually made a slit and stuffed the cup with some tissue to puff it up. I used twine to give the illusion that there is an actual tea bag inside the teacup.

Spring is Here

Hey there,

Guess what today is? That's right you guessed it!! It's Fabulous Friday over at Sugar Creek Hollow!!! And a Fabulous Friday it is!!! The weather is very promising this weekend, my family will be celebrating our lil' girls birthday and my son is getting an award for his musical contributions at school. I can't ask for a better weekend.

I challenged the girls this week to make a card using these colors.

Now two of these colors are retired from SU but for me personally, I love these colors together and they don't retire in my book until I deplete my supplies.

I made this card using the new Webster's Pages Your Life Beautiful. It's a 12x12 sheet. I cut the corner piece where the Robin's Egg was so I could use it for my card. After I distressed all the paper with my new Distrezz-it-all (gotta have) toy, I sponged the edges and glued together. My sentiment is Colors of Joy from SCH. I also used the Barn Swallow digi. You can get both of these at the STORE.

Hey there,

The sun is finally shinning, the skies are clear and the temperature is warming up. This is the day the Lord has made and I am so grateful for it.

This week has been a little off for me. I've had no time to craft for me personally but for others. This weekend is my lil's girls birthday so I've been busy putting together her party favors. I also made this card for my husband's coworker who lost her mother recently.

I kept this card quite simple. It has such an elegant look to it especially with the buckle. A simple bouquet of flowers and pearls along the bottom to finish the card.

By the end of this week, I'll show you two more cards I managed to make. They are for our Sugar Creek Hollow Fabulous Friday Challenges. Make sure to come back on Friday to take a look.

You are my Jam on my Toast

Hey there everyone,

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday and Mother's Day for those who are moms. As I am blogging, my DH and son are cooking dinner. The house smells like fresh lemon, garlic and chicken.

I am a little late posting the new Release digis from Sugar Creek Hollow. I left my battery from my laptop at church last week and couldn't get it until yesterday. All my files are on my laptop and not having a battery just but everything on halt for me.

Anyway, here is the Jelly Jar set.
I couldn't help myself and I just had to add some toast. I colored the jam with my copics and added paper glaze to make the glass effect. I paper pierced the lid and used dimensionals to pop it up.
The sentiment I created myself. Well, looks like dinner is ready. Time to enjoy my Mother's Day dinner prepared by my family. Gotta love it!!!

God's Grace

Hey there,

I hope your week started on a good note. My DH and I were busy yesterday shopping for the kids summer clothes, cleaning closets, volunteering at our our lil' guys kindergarten class, taking him to T-ball all while celebrating his birthday. These days, the kids seem to take a president over our birthdays.

Anyway, here is a card I made the other day. It was one of the cards I had to make for my DH. If you can see closely, I heat embossed the black scallop oval. I used SU Basic Black card stock and clear embossing powder however if you look there are some pink specks. I have no idea how that got there but, I like the way it looks.

It's Friday!!!

I don't know why I am so excited that today is Friday. I guess in part it's because it's going to be near 80 degress. This is my kind of weather!!!

A Moose Spa

Hey there,

I don't know about you but, after two days of rain, I'm glad to see the sun is finally out. It's a bit chilly out but at least it's not gray and raining. I just can wait until it's hot out already!!

I've been busy this week on some cards I can't wait to share with you next week. I have some new Sugar Creek Hollow digis for May's release. Wait until you see these digis.

Meanwhile, here's an invitation I made last week for my lil' girls birthday party. She's having a Spa Birthday next month. I had used this stamp once before for an invitation. I was glad to have had this stamp because it's really such a cute little thing. Caitie wanted pink and orange for her colors. The sketch pretty simple so, I added clear glaze in the water basin for the wow factor. It looks just like the real thing! For her favors, I'm going to use the moose again. I found this great favor idea on Splitcoaststampers that I'm going to have to cease.

A Mother's Apron

I am so glad it's Friday!! I get to sleep in tomorrow!!! Woohoo!!!

Today is another Fabulous Friday at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we have another sketch challenge for you.

This apron digi is one of the latest releases for April. I've been wanting to show you but, I have not been able to put a card together for you. I am so glad I was able to finally use it today.

I paper pierced the apron digi on two different DP paper. If you look closely, I stuffed a piece of paper towel inside the pocket. I always have tissues tucked inside my pocket when I'm cooking. Well, not just when I'm cooking. Anyway, this card reminded me a lot of my mother. All dressed up even with her apron on. I think I will send this to her for Mother's Day.

Sweet Baby

Hey there,

I hope you had a blessed weekend. My weekend was very busy. The baby shower was a success. Every one loved the diaper cake, center pieces and favors I made. They also loved how I decorated the hall. Everything really turned out nicely.

To end the weekend, I want show you the card I made. I just love this Sarah Kay stamp. It's certainly one of my favorites. I colored the imaged with my Copics. I used the Copic Challenge Color Black Hair for this card. After I colored her hair, my lil' girl thought I should add a bit of brown since most people have brown highlights. I thought to myself, "What does she know about highlights? She's only 8." As you can see, I added some brown to her hair.

Today is Fabulous Friday at Sugar Creek Hollow. The girls and I were challenged with another sketch.

When I saw this sketch, it took me a few days to come up with what I was going to do with it. I didn't have any DP that had this patterned so I thought of a trellis.

Thankfully, SVG had one. I just love when I can find what I need on the internet and get it immediately.

The sentiment I am using is from at set called Behold I Stand. It comes with 6 images and you can purchase it for $6.99. Take a look at these images. Aren't they beautiful?

Hold the Icing Please

Hey there,

I hope you are enjoying your day. The weather seems to be much like a yo-yo these days. One day is sunny and warm and the next it's rainy and cold. I can't wait until it's sunny and warm everyday!!

Anyway, I have been busy this week working on my friend's daughter baby shower. I wanted to show you my labor of love. This is my first diaper cake I have created. I have never seen this done, until my friend's daughter showed it to me on the internet. Most cakes that I have looked at are round cakes so I thought I'd try a square cake. I love the way it turned out and now I can't wait until my next one.

To make this cake you need 130 size 1 diapers. You can use any brand of diapers, any pattern or plain white. I used the Babies R Us name brand. These have a green pattern which was perfect for the cake since the shower's colors are green and pink. Next, you need lots of rubber bands. Try to get the pack that have mix sizes. Then, you'll need 1 1/2" ribbon (your choice of colors) and 9 artificial flowers.

To assemble the cake, you first need to role each diaper inwards as tight as you can. Use a rubber band to keep the diaper from unwinding. Also, make sure the rubber band is in the center of the diaper. Once you have rolled all 121 diapers, you can now assemble the layers. The bottom layer has 65 diapers. Use rubber bands to group the diapers together. The next layer has 36 diapers, then 16, then 9 and finally the top layer has 4. Follow the same steps for all 5 layers. Now to decorate, use ribbon to hide the rubber band. Make sure your cake is shaped properly before gluing the ribbon. I used my glue gun to glue the end of the ribbon only. You don't want to glue the ribbon to the diaper since the "mommy" will be using the diapers afterward. Now that the ribbon is glued, you can decorate your cake with your flowers.

Boy, I sure have been busy this week! I think I managed to show you three cards this week.

Well, here is the newest digi from Sugar Creek Hollow. A Child's Dress. When Tracy sent the DT this digi, I just had to create a card. So, my original thought was to create a girlie-girl card with lots of pink and ribbon. While I was going through my packs of DP, this one jump right out at me. Well, there goes my girlie-girl dress :o/

I used this week's Mojo Monday challenge for my sketch. It's a simple, clean and perfect sketch for this dress.

Cameo Birthday

Hey there,

Another beautiful day today in NJ. The weather is perfect! I hope you are having a nice day where ever you are.

Today's card is a card I made a few weeks ago for my MIL's birthday. The image I am using is actually two images from Sugar Creek Hollow. This set comes with 5 Cameo Ladies and a frame.

For my card, I use some DP paper I have stashed in a box. I purchased it so long ago at my craft store I don't remember who made it. Then, I picked SU So Safron and Whisper White CS. Once I picked my colors, I colored the images with my Copics. Then, I used the crackled technique over the entire image. You can't tell from the picture but the image came our really nice with this technique. I distress my paper, used the SU Elegant Cheer Birthday stamp, added some yellow roses and colored the lace ribbon with my Copics as well. For an extra touch, I added 3 pearls opposite of the roses.

Now that my MIL has received her card and SCH has released this image, I am glad to be sharing it with you today. I hope you get inspired to try something new. Here is a tutorial I found on learning to make the Crackled Technique from Angie Kennedy at Chicnscratch.

Bundle of Joy

Hey there,

Today was a gorgeous day! I hope you had a chance to be outside and take it all in.

Unfortunately, I didn't. I went to work today, then made it home in time for the school bus, then to the pharmacy to pick up my lil' girls allergy meds, then to the farmers market, then to Walmart and finally back home to unload the car and cook dinner. Now here I am 8:00pm and exhausted.

Over the weekend, I took some time to make a few cards to share with you this week. My husband's cousin had her first baby a few days ago. I couldn't wait to make her a card. I had purchased this stamp months ago when it first came out and now is when I'm finally inking it up. I just love this image!!

I colored this image with my copics. Then I cut the image out and added pop-ups. The DP is one of my all time favorite from SU.

Now that I inked this stamp up, I have 2 more to do this month!! Both are for a baby girl so I will make sure to take a picture to share with you.

Easter Wishes

Hey there,

We are a few days away from the most holiest day for Christians. On Easter Sunday Christians around the world celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

According to scripture, Jesus was raised from the dead 3 days after his death on the cross. Through his death, Jesus paid the penalty of our sins so that we may have eternal life. You may read the accounts that took place from his crucifixion to his resurrection here.

I took some time today to create some Easter cards for my friends and family. I had purchased this stamp last July when I went to the CHA show. I knew I wanted to use this cross for Easter and today, I'm finally inking it up. This cross is a 3D stamp. You start by embossing the cross on your choice of papers. Then, you carefully cut out the image starting with the full image and working your way to the smallest. Once all the images are cut, all you have to do is pop them up on dimensionals.

I can't believe how simple this technique was and how I didn't add anything else to the card. I love how simple, clean and elegant it turned out.

Materials Used: SU Whisper White, So Saffron and Bashful Blue card stock, SU Bella Birds DP, Silver embossing powder, SU Easter Wishes stamp and Holly Berry House Cross.

As for my card, I used SU Soft Sky, Close to Coco, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White card stock. The DP is from Bittersweet Basic Gray. I distressed and sponged the edges. On the card stock where I printed my digi, I sprayed it with my homemade Glitter Mist. The sentiment, I generated and used the same technique as with the digi. I used a soft pink ribbon and added a Prima Flower for the final touches.

My Watering Can

Hey there,

It's a beautiful spring like day here in Central NJ. The sun is shinning brightly and the skies are so clear. We've had some kind of weather these past couple of weeks and it's nice to have a break.

I have not been able to craft for a while since I started working. My days are filled with work and family life, that by the end of the day, all I want to do is sleep. I made this watering can a few weeks ago during my monthly workshop. It was so much fun to make!

Hey there,

Today is Fabulous Friday at Sugar Creek Hollow. The girls and I have created a card for you using buttons.

For my card, I decided to use one of the newest set of digi's. This set is an absolute must! It is called the Legend of the Dogwood Tree set and you can purchase it for $5.

Honesty is the Best Policy

Hey there,

I can't believe I haven't posted a card since Tuesday. Well, the truth is this week has been some journey for me. I am so happy and blessed to tell you that I am now working. I am the new Children's Ministry Director at Central Church in Ewing, NJ. Being in ministry has always been my passion and I cannot wait to see how God is going to use me in this new role.

I will still be very much involved in my cards and Design Teams. You have been through my journey of life and I want to continue to share with you my love for Christ and obsession for cards {wink}.

Okay, enough about me, let me tell you about the card I'm sharing with you today. I made this card for our Fabulous Friday at Sugar Creek Hollow. I challenged the girls to make a Color Combo Card using these colors. I know two out of the four are retired SU colors, but they are my favorite colors.

It's Tuesday Throwdown at Sherrod Studio and today I have a New Digi called Flower Girl to share with you. This digi comes with this adorable image and two sentiments.

This week's challenge is to create a Flap Card. You can find the tutorial here to make one yourself. For my card, I picked the DP first. I picked the colors off the DP to color my Flower Girl. Once I finished coloring, I thought to add some sparkle. The colored the ribbon the same color as my flower. You just have to love Copics {wink}!!!!

I am so excited to share with you that Kim has now created a BRAND SPANKING NEW DIGI LINE!!!

My Vintage Lamp

I am so excited to be part of the celebration and Design Team!! It is such an honor to work with a great group of talented ladies. We are kicking off the Grand Opening with a Grand Celebration!!!

For my card, I used the Tiffany Lamp. I wanted to create something that I have never tried before and hoped that what I imagined, would come out on this card.

First, I colored the Tiffany Lamp. Then I used my electronic cutting machine to cut out this window frame. You can't tell from the picture but, I even added acetate paper to create the glass for the window. Next, I colored the window frame with my copics to create the wood effect. Every window needs some curtains right? I cut, creased and sponged the DP for my curtains. I glued all the pieces together and popped up the window with dimensionals. The rest was pretty simple {smile}.

Another snowy day here in Central New Jersey. I wonder when will we ever see the blue skies and green grass? It seems like the winter just does not want to go away.

I have been busy creating these past few days. From my regular commitments to baby shower invitations, party favors and center pieces.

Today, I would normally be posting my card for Fabulous Friday with Sugar Creek Hollow however, I will be doing that tomorrow. You see, SCH was asked to sponsor Our Creative Corner Challenge tomorrow. So, instead of posting our regular scheduled card for today, we will be playing along with OCC's Challenge. Vintage Boots

Well, it is predicted that we are going to get hit with another snow storm tonight. I hope it passes us because I really can not take another storm.

On a happier note, here is a card I made for Our Creative Corner Try a New Technique Challenge.

My card is a Recessed Window Card which I just learned from SplitCostStampers. This was so much fun to do and it really does turn out beautiful. I think I might have to do this next week during my monthly workshop. Click on the SCS link above to view the tutorial. There's even a video.

Anyway, for this card I used Vintage Boots from SCH. I colored them with my copics of course. The paper is Ancestry from K&Company. I used some rhinestones and prima flowers and ribbon for my embellishments. The flowers and ribbon were also colored with my copics. As for my sentiment, it reads, "Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God. Job 37:14". I think this is the perfect scripture verse for this card. I typed it up on my pc and used my oval punch to cut it out.

Hey there everyone!

It's Sherrod Studio Tuesday Throwdown!! This week our DT member Ceal challenged us to make a Shadow Box card. I could not wait to try this out! It's so easy and so much fun. You can do so many different things with this card.

For my card, I wanted to use this beautiful DS paper. You really can't tell from the picture but, it has glitter and embossing on it. Now that I selected my paper, I wanted to add something that popped. So, I decided it was time play with my 3D flowers. This took no more than 3 minutes to put together. Finally, for the finishing touches I add some tiny pearls around the oval and a simple tag using one of Sherrod Studios stamps from the Gracie set.

I couldn't wait to make a card with this digi from Sugar Creek Hollow for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. It was the perfect sketch to show off this beautiful scripture.

When I start to make this card, I decided to go with browns and greens. As the card progressed, I decided to add some purple for royalty. Luckily for me, I had these beautiful purple flowers and drew drops.

I am very please how this card turned out. I showed this card to my mother-in-law yesterday and she immediately snagged it. As she read the scripture verse, she thought of her long time friend that is going through a divorce. What a blessing to provide a card like this to someone who is going through a tough time. I pray this card will touch her heart and give her some comfort.

One of the things I love about working with SCH is that its a ministry to feed the homeless in Virginia. All the proceeds go directly to purchase food for the homeless kitchen. Since the preview week, SCH was able to purchase 2-3 weeks worth of food!! What a blessing!

Carefree

Hey there,

Don't you just love this cute little girl?! When I look at this girl, all I can think of is how she is so carefree and full of joy. I purchased this girl at Phindy's Place. Her name is Emma.

I have had enough of this cold winter weather and had to make something to cheer me up. I made this card for my mother. You see, the other day, I was surfing the web and came across video tutorials on making crochet flowers. As a teenager, I used to crochet and I've made baby blankets for all three of my children. I thought that making a flower shouldn't be that difficult. I tried 1, 2, 3 ...10 times before I gave up and called my mother {wink}. Mom to the rescue!!! She made me a bag full of flowers and sent them to me all the way from Puerto Rico. Isn't she amazing?!!

I entered this card in 2 challenges. The first one is for Copic Creations and the second one is for i {heart} copics at Paper Craft Planet.

For Copic Creations, the challenge was to custom coloring your embellishments with Copics. I colored the ribbon, pink flower and brad with R85 along with Emma dress. I know I had some pink flowers but with this challenge, I just had to try coloring a white flower with my copics. To my surprise, it worked! I might just have to call my mom for some more white flowers {wink-wink}.

Finally, the i {heart} copics challenge was a sketch. I didn't add all the brads since I didn't want to take away from the flower.

Simple Butterfly

Hey there,

Happy Monday!! I hope you are all doing well.

Yesterday was uneventful. Well, if cleaning the soda explosion in the pantry is eventful then I guess I had a blast yesterday!! heehee. After wiping all the can food, scrubbing the floor and painting the walls in the pantry, my arm was hurting again so couldn't make a card.

I'm glad I made this card Saturday night once the kids were fast asleep. This beautiful butterfly is from SCH.

I printed the butterfly 3 times. Twice on white cs and once on DP. The first butterfly, I colored the outer parts with my Copics Y21, Y23, R20 and blender marker. Then I cut the DP and glue it on the first bf. On the third bf, I used my oval spellbinder and sponged some So Safron ink while the template was still on the cs. Finally, I glued the cut out bf over the oval bf. I kept the rest of the card simple. I didn't want to over do it and take away from the butterfly. This card works for just about any occasion so I left the sentiment out.

Be Mine

Hey there,

I'm slowly recovering from shoveling and didn't want to miss showing you some Valentine cards I am making today for my DH and kids.

First up is a card for my darling husband. I started working on this card this morning and as the card progressed, I wanted to add a heart doily. Derek was on his way to Walmart so I called him up and asked him to pick me up a pack. Little does he know it's for his own card {wink}.

I found this image in Google under Valentine Coloring pages. I thought it was perfect. I used my copics to color the hearts. The DP paper is Lovely from K&Company. For the card stock I used some of my old time SU In Color SC Pink Pirouette and Soft Sky. The ribbon was white which I also colored with my copics. It's the best!!

Well, now it's time to work on my Valentine's for the kiddies. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!!

Work in Progress

The snow is coming down heavy here in NJ. After shoveling the snow that fell overnight, here is what happens just 2 hours later. We are expected to get another 12" through midnight. We can barely open the front door.

I should be taking advantage of the fact that it is snowing to do a card, but my arm hurts. I forgot what is was like to feel the pain in my arm again but, I quickly remembered. I think I might have to go to the physical therapist next week. He's not going to be happy with me.

I already told my husband to give up and call the landscaper. I'm not going back out!!

I wonder what tomorrow is going to look like.

Flutterby

Hey there,

Here's a card I made today for Mojo Monday. I purchased this adorable image at Phindy's Place. The image is called Love Flutterby. I thought she looked like one of the vintage characters you see in the Little Golden books for kids.

I search high and low to get inspirations for her coloring. I found this really great blog called Two Crazy Crafters. It's all vintage and if you are looking for vintage inspiration, that where to go. I added this blog to my favorites!

So after starring at their banner for hours (kinda more like minutes), I played with some colors. I used my copic colors Y23, Y21 for yellow and added some E31 to give the yellow a aged look. I did the same for her shirt. I used R81, R83 and R85. Then E31. Her bandanna, shoes and hair got the same concept.

The sketch was a little difficult to turn vintage. I didn't want to go off from the sketch so I tried my best. I distressed, sponged and stitched the DP.

Well, I better go work on the laundry and dinner before the kids come home from school. It's going to be a long night. The weather calls for another 18" of snow over night and my DH is at play rehearsal. As always, thanks for looking.

Welcome Back!! I am so glad you made it!! Now it's time to share some love and become a follower. By doing this, will receive a free digi with your purchase of this beautiful Quilt Til' You Wilt digi set.

I have been having so much fun these day playing with all the SCH images. I knew when I applied for the design team, that it was going to be fun to create cards with Vintage and Primitive images. What I didn't know, was how much fun the DT was going to be. We chat everyday sometimes 3-4 times a day. We have our own DT blog where we share our projects with the team before we share them with you. We are constantly sharing, encouraging and praying for each other. I have also been really blessed to be their coordinator. Not only do I get to create cards and projects with them but I get to encourage, inspire and be their cheerleader!! Let me hear a S-U-G-A-R ... well you get the idea {wink}.

When we received this set, Tracy (SCH owner) asked us to make a card using all three digis. You got to see what the team has created with this set!!! They have really outdone themselves. I decided to enlarge the Quilt block and print it over the DP paper. Then I stitched the entire image. I also added some cross stitch and sewed my button on the flower.

The Gates of Heaven

Hey there, I hope you are all ready for the snow.

We are supposed to get about 12" of snow but, I'm hoping for much less. I am still stick and now my poor husband is sick. Who's going to shovel the driveway tomorrow if we are all sick? The kiddies? Heehee

Well, it's Fabulous Friday over at Sugar Creek Hollow. The girls and I have been super busy creating beautiful Vintage and Primitive cards for you to see. Although the store officially opens March 1st, you can pre-buy any digi you see. This beautiful cross I used on my card today is called Vined Cross.

I printed this digi on vellum paper and as soon as it came out of the printer I poured Bronze Embossing Powder. I heat set it and cut it out with my Spellbinders Label 4. The paper I used is from Webster's Pages Postcards from Paris. Once I put these two together, I thought to myself, "Now what"?

So, I played with a few sketches until the thought of creating a gate came to mind. Now I was excited!!! I found some hinges at my local hardware store. They were gold so I had to sand them down and repaint them with my copic marker E39. I used brads instead of the screws the hinges came with {wink}.

When I look at this card, I think of what heaven would look like when I meet the Angel Peter at the Gates of Heaven.

Mirror, Mirror

on the wall, who is the fairest of all?

When we look at ourselves in the mirror isn't this what we say? Hoping to hear that it is you, yet the truth is, that there is only one who is the fairest of all.

That is our Lord Jesus Christ because "His faithful love endures forever" Psalm 136:1

I haven't been able to make many cards for you this week. In fact, I think I only made one which will be post next week. I have been so sick, my energy level is low.

This is a card I made last week to showcase the New Sugar Creek Hollow Vintage and Primitive images. Isn't it so pretty? These are two images that I layered together. You can take of look here to see what they actually look like. I use Publisher for all my digis. You can recolor, crop and layer your images in any way you like. For this card, I just recolored the images in brown and layered the scripture verse over the mirror. After printing the image, I cut and colored the mirror. Then I used bronze Perfect Pearls to give the mirror a shinny and vintage look. To create the mirror effect, I brush stroked some silver Perfect Pearls with a wet paint brush. I added an border around the mirror with SU chocolate chip cs. I distress, sponged and added dimensions over the knotted ribbon. Finally, I added some flowers over the flowers on the mirror.

Love is in the Air

Well, may be not love but colds. That is exactly what I have right now, a cold. ;o/

I have not been able to work on a challenge these past few days and I didn't want to have my bog to be dated so, I pulled out my Valentine projects we will be working on at my next workshop.

The card is a spinner card. It's the easiest card to make and so much fun to play with. For the mini album, I used the new specialty DP from Stampin' Up!. I also used the Whimsical Words Stamp set you can get Free with a minimum purchase of $50. The set comes with 6 sentiments. I am so EXCITED to be able to share this card with you today!!!

The Sugar Creek Hollow Design Team and I have been working hard behind the scene creating cards to share with you for the Grand Opening.

We couldn't resist holding back!! We want to share with you just a preview of what is to come.

The images I am using are Dressmaker Form and Easter Bonnet. When I saw these images, I knew exactly how I was going to make my card. First I colored the dressmaker form with my copics. I wanted the form to look realistic so I went with a natural colour. For the East Bonnet, I colored, cut and hung it over the ovals with pop-ups. The DP paper is from Webster's Pages called Petite Paper Collection Combo Pack Postcards from Paris & Sweet as Cherry Pie. I added some ribbon, stitching, drew drops and lots of distressing to go with the theme.

It's Thursday morning and I'm just getting to my Mojo Monday challenge. I was over at PCP visiting Phindy's Place and she had an adorable image I couldn't resist.

So, my card for today is for both Mojo Monday and Phindy's birthday card challenge.

Here's the sketch for Mojo Monday. You could do either a circle or square card.

And for Phindy's Birthday Card Challenge we had to make a card with Brown and Red using one of her images. You can get this digi for free at Phindy's Place - Believe it or Not thread. Make sure to become a member and post your card so everyone can see.

I generated the Birthday Wishes sentiment on my computer, Colored the images with my copics, used Diamond Glaze over the strawberries and my DP is from SU. I had so much fun creating this card. I love how the strawberries are glazed. My sister's birthday is coming up, so I think she'll get this lovely card. This is not one to keep in a box.

I was delighted this morning to see I received my first Blog Award! Isn't this so sweet? I received it from Tracy Vinson the owner and designer of Sugar Creek Hollow where I am a Design Team member and Coordinator.

I've known Tracy for a short time and I know I'll know her for a very long time to come. She is so sweet, caring and thoughtful. Aside from knowing her through SCH, she and I share the love of Christ.

Monochromatic Card

Here we are with another Sherrod Studio Throwdown Tuesday Challenge.

Leah has done a great job this month challenging the design team. For her last challenge, she asked us to make a monochromatic card. I have to admit, I wasn't quite sure what monochromatic meant so I had to look it up.

A monochromatic color scheme uses a single color on most every room surface. In this type of scheme, various darker shades, grayer tones, and paler tints of the main color may be included in the palette. In addition, the one color is often paired with white or another neutral.

Of course my favorite color is brown so I just had to go with this color scheme. For my card, I used the sandcastle from the By the Shore stamp set. I'm not sure what I was doing with the sketch though. I think I'll try this again later today and post the card again.

Altered Frame

I just got back home from my ALL DAY Crop event. I am exhausted and glad it's over!!

I met some really nice ladies today. Some wanted to chat, some wanted to learn everything I know about blogs I visit frequently and some even tried to make a card or altered project.

I have never been to a crop and didn't know what to expect. All I knew was that these croppers will bring there entire crop supplies and crop all day. I was amazed in their dedication and loyalty to scrapbooking!!

So, I intended to take pictures of my table and ladies working on their cards, but somehow the camera just sat in my purse and I never got to it out. So, what I made for my table to promoted my workshops at the Y.

This is a wood picture frame I purchase in my local craft store for $1. Yes, $1!! I decorated it with my SU DS paper, ribbon, a chipboard butterfly and the latest SU bird punch. I typed the workshop information on my computer and attached it to the frame.

Finally, I wanted to show you the small note pad I added to my giveaway. In my previous post, I wanted to add something else to my pail and some of you suggested to add a note pad to go with the pen. The lady how won the giveaway was so happy. She loved it!!

Now it's time to get some rest. Tomorrow I have a lot of cleaning up to do starting with my craft room.

Tomorrow I will be at an all day Crop from 9am -9pm. It's going to be a long day, but I am sure it will be a lot of fun!!

Here is one of my Make & Takes. It is a simple card for just about any occasion. I love the simplicity and elegance of this card.

I made this card with one of the newest SU clear mount set. It's called Garden From the Heart. You can find this set in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I colored these images with my SU blender pens and ink pads.

Well, I'm off to finish up some last minute details before my big day.

My Crop Give Away

Hey ladies,

If you haven't noticed on the top of my blog, I will be at an all day Crop this Saturday. The event is from 9am to 9pm. I have never participated in one of these so I'm excited to see what the turn out would be like. My local fire house host several of these every year for the past 8 years. My guess is that they are doing pretty well ;o)

Anyway, I was asked to make something for a 50/50 raffle. All the proceeds go to support the Ladies Auxiliary.

I had this paint can for some time and I thought of adding a few goodies. Here's what I included:

A Gift Certificate for a Free class to one of my workshops at the YMCA
3 small stamps
1 Classic Stampin' Spot
A paper flower and beaded pin I made

I decorated the can with the new SU Sweet Pea paper pad and Razzleberry Polka Dot ribbon. I might add a few more things before the weekend comes up. Not sure what it will be yet though. Any thoughts?
