Take Two

After posting my Wild Cherry Fairy card the other day, I received a special request to make one in lavender. I just love when I get special orders!

Today was filled with answering emails and getting my SU business to another level. I had a request for instruction on my Butterfly card and questions regarding Copic markers. I am also in the beginning stages of putting together a Spanish workshop in September. I am also trying to get back to the basics of booking workshops. After listening to Shelia's video message about increasing your business base by booking workshops and not just hosting clubs, I was motivated.

I wonder how many of my viewers live in the Central New Jersey area and would like to have a Stampin' Up! workshop? In addition to booking workshops, I am also looking for new members to join my family. Whether it's for yourself or to share Stampin' Up! with others, you won't be disappointed.

I'm on the fast track ladies! And, remember if you have questions regarding any of my post, Stampin' Up! products or just want to comment, send me message or email me. I would love to hear from you!

After a few days of stamping, I had to take a break. However, today, nothing stopped me to use my Copics and sewing machine (wink).

This little fairy has been in my CHA bag since I returned. I actually haven't unpacked it. I have just been taking things out as I get inspired. Plus it feels like a new toy every time I dip into it.

I purchased this adorable fairy from Crafter's Companion. They are the Enveloper people. At least that's what I refer them to. The Enveloper and Top Score is a must in a crafter's world. Anyway, on to my stamp...it's easy to get side tracked. This stamp is called Wild Cherry. I didn't color the flowers pink s the samples show on the package but, who cares. There really no rule that you have to color everything exactly the right color.

The colors on the fairy's dress didn't come out too good on camera. However, the card did come out lovely. I always have a hard time covering pretty DS paper and I didn't want to over crowd the card. The DS paper is from Basic Gray Scarlet Letter paper pad. I do believe this pack is being retired. What a shame because it really is a beautiful pack.

As I was making this card, I plugged my ear phone to my laptop and put on some old Spanish love songs. My DH brought me up a glass of wine and I zoned out. The songs took me back to when I was a little girl watching my mother sing and dance around the apartment while cleaning the house. I remember trying to imitate her singing to the broom and dancing. I love days like today that brings me back to my childhood. I love my life but, I would surely love to be back singing to the broom and dancing like I once did, even if it is just one last time.

Today's card was made with: Stampin' Up! Old Olive and Whisper White card stock, Basic Gray Scarlet Letter DS paper, Wild Cherry Fairy from Stamper's Companion, Copic markers, ribbon, Rhinestone stickers, Stampin' Up! small and medium oval punch and sewing machine.

I am on a role...3 post in 3 days. I hope I can keep it up.

Today I visited the orthopedics for a second opinion. I had more x-rays done and a physical exam. While the doctor was testing my arm motion he was testing my pulse on both arms. Well, it turns out that there's nothing wrong with my arm but, I may have a vascular clog. The doctor put me on medication, more physical therapy (2 wks) and if that does not work, I'll need to see a vascular surgeon.

So, with this news what do I do? I go home, make dinner and go up to my craft corner. This this is what I came up with.

My DH asked me to make something for his co-worker that covered for him while we were on vacation. We bought her a necklaces, so I wanted to make a bag for it. I ended up making this Stampin' Up! Scallop Bag and book mark. The Scallop Bag is a Big Shot Die.
It's the cutest little bag and works perfect for a small gift. I absolutely love my BIG SHOT. If you are thinking of which die cutting machine to purchase, think about purchasing a BIG SHOT. It works with the Sizzix die cuts as well as the Cuttlebug products. The BIG SHOT is a lot bigger and cuts over 50 materials. You also get exclusive dies that coordinates with Stampin' Up! product lines. Click HERE to see a BIG SHOT demonstration.

Well, I have 2 more weeks before I see the doctor and get anything else done on my arm. I hope to continue to show you more cards and crafts. Thanks for looking!

Praying for You

It has been some time since I made a card like this one. I made this card today because my heart has been heavy, my thoughts have been deep and my body needs healing. I have not been to church lately and I needed to be closer to God today.

I just realized that the kids will be returning to school next week and suddenly I found myself feeling anxious. The house will be quite and I will not be working this time. I don't know how long it will take before I go stir crazy but, I'm sure it will happen fast. I am not used to not working and it's going to be a big change. In addition, I have a few medical procedures coming up, my DH injured his knee and I have been missing my old church a lot. Certainly you can see why I need to be loser to God.

I fell in love with this Stampin' Up! Medallion stamp the first time I saw it. I haven't had the chance to buy it until now and I am so glad I did. It is absolutely beautiful. For the sentiment, I used Praying for You from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set. Then I used the *Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot ribbon and tied it to the Hodgepodge Hardware. I also used the Sanded Background stamp for some texture.

*Use the reverse side of the ribbon for the solid color.

(To purchase any of the products mentioned, simply click on the links and it will take you directly to the product page).

Tomorrow is my appointment to the orthopedic. I pray and hope he can figure out what is wrong with my arm and find solutions to fix it. Thanks for looking and keep visiting!

Let's do Lunch

After running errands and catching up with my back log of emails, I finally sat down and stamped today. I am so glad that I left the house clean and the laundry done before we left on vacation. It made my return home more pleasant. There's nothing like coming home from a restful vacation to have chores to do.

My card today is for some friends I am inviting to lunch. Since I will be making a few of these, I wanted to keep it simple. It took me 30 minutes to figure out what I wanted and complete the card. I hope after this post, I will be able to make a few more before my arm gets tired. These days my arm has been feeling as if I have been working out. The pain has subsided but, it's still sore.

The food basket and sentiment comes from the Papertray Ink. The set I am using is called Vintage Picnic. I purchased this set at CHA and I never got the chance to play with it. I guess I'm still catching up. I love this set. It has 5 baskets, 8 images for the inside of the basket, 4 small images and 9 sentiments. What I like about this set is that you can mix and match the images to your style.Since I was going with a picnic style I wanted my DS paper to look like a real picnic blanket. I had the perfect paper! It's from Basic Gray June Bug Paper Pad. For my embellishment, I added some stitching (a blanket needs some stitching) and a simple ribbon.

Now here's how I made my basket...I stamped my basket on the DS paper and cut it out. Then I stamped the food on whisper white cs. I used my Copic markers to color the food. For lid on the jar, I added gold glitter pen. I then stamped the cloth and layered it over the basket. Before putting my pieces together I stamped the food on the very vanilla card stock. Finally, I put all the pieces together and propped up the bread and grapes so they looked 3 dimensional. A simple Let's do lunch sentiment and done!

Now, time for me to make a few more of these cards! Thanks for looking and come back soon!

Today's card was created with: Stampin' Up! Basic Gray and Very Vanilla card stock, Basic Gray June Bug Paper Pad, Papertry Vintage Picnic stamp set, Copic markers, ribbon and sewing machine.

I'm back

Hey there, miss me? Well, I certainly miss creating, sharing and inspiring you with my cards and messages. My family and I went on a well needed vacation to the Dominican Republic. If you have not visited DR and are looking for a all inclusive inexpensive vacation, you must try Applevacations.com and look for Punta Cana Iberostar Hotel and Resort. This is our second time going and we can not wait to go back next year.

So, not only do I still have an injured arm, but my DH hurt his knee playing tog-a-war (poor thing). Anyway, we will be seeing the Orthopedic this week for his knee and my arm. Can it get any better?! (hehe)
I have been playing catch up with emails and updating my Stampin' Up! website. I have filled my calendar with New Club and Technique workshops. If you are from the Central New Jersey area and are looking to join a club, check out my WEBSITE for further information.

Well, I'm off to pick up my doggie and do some much needed food shopping. Then I'll be back to play with my stamps and post something for tonight.

Happy Haunting

Today is the release day for 3 Brand New stamp sets at Sherrod Studio!

While the Design Team has been busy creating cards to inspire you, I have been busy nursing my arm. If you haven't seen what the DT has been creating all week, you gotta go check out there blogs!
I made this card today to show you that you don't need a lot of "stuff" to make your cards. For today's card, I used Stampin' Up! Kiwi Kiss and Lovely Lilac card stock. I colored the Haunted House with my copic markers. Then re-stamped the image on the Lovely Lilac card stock and added a dimensional to pop up the house. For the Happy Haunting sentiment, I used my heat gun with a little black embossing powder. Some ribbon and EK success punch and wala!

I have one more stamp set to show you before the end of the day. So, make sure to come back later this afternoon. Meanwhile make sure to visit the DT's blogs and Kim Sherrod's blog for some candy!

See you later!

Best Witches

It's Blog Hop time at Sherrod Studio and the Design Team!!!

Today is the first day of the blog hop.
The Design Team will show you some awesome designs all week and on August 13th you will be able to purchase any of the adorable stamps at Sherrod Studio. On August 13th make sure to check out Kim Sherrod Studio's blog for a chance to win one of these adorable stamps!

Now, how about this adorable witch? Isn't she the cutest?! She is from the
“All Hallow’s Eve” stamp set. This is the perfect set for Halloween. I didn't want this card to match my personality so I added some flower DS paper from Basic Gray Scarlet's Letter paper pad. I colored her with my copic markers and gave her some glitter on her hat, hair ribbon and stockings.

Here are some more sneak peaks from the Design Team. Make sure to take a look. Happy Hopping!

Share the Load

If today was August 8th, my devotional would have been a perfect day for today. Yesterday's devotional was about allowing yourself to take God's yoke so your challenges would become easier.

"Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." Matthew 11:29-30

My DH and children help share the load of cleaning and doing the laundry while I rested my arm in the sling today. I haven't been able to do any house chores since I hurt my arm and the house looked as if a bomb hit it. Well, at least it did in my eyes (wink). It was nice to see the entire family pitch in and do their share. The kids were great even with a couple of distractions (wink). While I still have to finish the laundry, the heavy load of scrubbing the bathrooms and cleaning up the play room is done.

As I sat here to write my post for today, I was thinking about how much it reminded me of yesterday's devotional
. Another reminder that God is truly with me.

Here's the card we made at Friday's workshop. I learned how to make this card at CHA and I couldn't wait to alter it and make it my own. We used one of my favorite Stampin' Up! DS paper called Bella Bleu. I layered it with Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla card stock. For the inside of the card, we stamped the background with SU En Francais background stamp. Then we used yarn to hold the Beautiful Butterflies in the center of the card. If you like to learn how to make this card, send me a post with your email address and I will send you the instructions.

Now for some Sharrod Studio business. Tomorrow starts our blog hob for the August release. Make sure to come back tomorrow! I have the sweetest card to show you.

Thanks for looking.

No Stampin' for Me

Hey there, I just wanted to send you a quick update as to my disappearance. Since I haven't stamped this week, I thought you would enjoy this picture of my stampin' doggie. Isn't she cute? Every time I have club nights, she always finds her way up on someones lap. I couldn't resist not taking a picture. Since my trip back from CHA, my arm has been hurting a lot more. I had PT on Monday and doctor's appointment on Tuesday. PT has officially stopped. Doctor now thinks it's a torn muscle (not good). I go for my MRI on Saturday. Needless to say, I've been laying low. I have SU workshop tomorrow and I'm just praying I can get through it.

As for my camera, I haven't had a chance to go shopping. Hopefully my DH can get a new camera this weekend . I feel lost without a camera. My new stamps from Sharrod Studio arrived and hope to make some cards this weekend. Take a look at a preview of the new stamps. Click HERE to view. The
design team will be showcasing their cards on August 10th and the new sets will be released August 15th. Make sure to come back soon.

Well, time for me to get off the computer. It hurts to even type. I better put ice on my arm and get some rest. I have a busy day tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm back!

Hey there!

I'm back from my weekend at the CHA Super Show. What a weekend it was. From getting locked out of the hotel room in the balcony, to auditioning to be the next Crafting Diva personality! ZeelTV.com had auditions for the next Crafting Diva.
Winning contestants will land their own television series! Click HERE to read all about it. Never in my life time would I have ever thought of doing such a thing. It was so much fun though.

I had so much fun seeing all the new crafting products, meeting new people and learning new crafting techniques. Most importantly, I had a blast with my friend Margret who was so much fun to be with. She is a women of my own heart. I love her spunk and her passion of crafts! I hope to be just like her when I "grow up" :o) We have a 37 year difference and it was like hanging out with my best friend. I just love her!!!

I am sorry I did not post any pictures of the event. Some how my camera decided not to work (sigh).
The lens cover wouldn't open when I turned the camera on. Now, I have to go buy a new camera (sigh)! I have so much to show you starting with the paper folding techniques I learned.

Make sure to come back later this week. Thanks for stopping bye!

PS. Margret was the one who convinced me to audition.
