Stampin' Up! Catalog Release Day

Best Wishes

It's Mojo Monday and I finally had a chance to play today! Hopefully, I will keep the mojo going all week.

Here is my sketch challenge #93. I really like this sketch because not only can you layer your paper but, you can also see the DS paper unlike other sketches where the DS paper is hidden.

When I saw this DS paper from Basic Gray, I knew I just had to get it. The paper pad is called Wisteria and when you get your hands on it, you will fall in love too.

I made this card with my sister in mind. She is moving to Atlanta on Friday and I wanted to send her a farewell card. Over the weekend we had a disagreement and I'm hoping we could put it to pass and move on.

I heard that her new co-workers in Atlanta are into SU and paper crafting. Maybe one day I can visit and meet them. I'm sure she will be in great hands.

Today is Day 2 of Sherrod Studio's sneak peek. If you liked Saturday's sneak peek, take a look at today's. Kim made the cutest card. Make sure to take a look at the other Design Team's blogs for more peeks.

Tomorrow I'll be working on Stampavie Challenge #7-Recipe. Make sure to come back and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by.

Today's card was made with: Stampin' Up! Basic Gray, Whisper White and Old Olive card stock, Echoes of Kindness and Sincere Salutations Stamp set,

Garden Bears

As promised here is my latest Stampavie challenge #6 ~ Flowers.

Last night when I finished the card, I was not 100% satisfied but, when I woke up this morning and looked at the card, I was quite pleased. The colors came out great.

This adorable set is called Garden Bears. I wanted to make the bears look like a boy and girl bear. My one challenge was to make the bears look realistic and match the colors to the DS paper. Red is such a hard color to blend. Looking at the picture you couldn't tell, but I almost threw it away. Instead, I walked away and went to bed. I was glad I didn't throw it the trash.

The flower is from Prima Flowers I purchased at Micheal's on clearance. The flower was a very pale peach. I used my copic markers to add some color. The DS paper is from DCWV Pro called Citrus matstack. I wish you could see the top DS paper on HD becuase it is clear embossed with glitter. Very beautiful.

Today is the first sneak peek of Kim Sherrod Studio clear stamp line. I can not wait to get my hands on my stamps so I can create some cards. The set is just adorable. I already have my favorite stamp. Take a look at some of the cards the Design Team has already created. O
ne of them has a prize, so make sure you comment.

Cute as a bug

Hey there,

Isn't this card so cute? I had this stamp since forever and have never inked it up. I don't even know why I bought it. Maybe I was thinking of my son when I saw it. But, he doesn't even LIKE bugs!

Anyway, I thought this would be a cute card for the Copic Creations 6 ~ Wood Challenge. It's been a while since I tried to make a card for a boy and being that I need to start working on my Father's Day cards, I better get some practice.

This adorable image is from Storage Units, Inks & More. It's called Boys 'n' Bugs. They have really cute stamp sets.

One of my next personal challenges with Copic, is to learn how to the airbrush system. I showed it to my DH and he said he will buy it for me. Now, I just have to confirm that and make my purchase before he forgets (hehe). I would have loved to airbrush some sky around the sandbox for this card. Believe it or not, I learned how to use my Copics through videos on YouTube and lots of practice. One of the best video tutorials I watch are from Suzanne J Dean from Scrap Bitz. Check out her videos HERE.

Soon the kids will be out of school and I hope to have time to make cards and post as much as I do. I'm sure I'll be able to make something once the kids are in bed ;-)

Thanks for looking and commenting on my cards. I really do appreciate the time you take to look at my card, read my rambling and post a message. Keep them coming!!

Today's card was made with: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Old Olive and Blue Bayou card stock, The Sharon Ann Baby Safari DS paper, Boys 'n' Bug stamps from Suink.net, Piercer, Orange ribbon, Photo Corner punch and Stampn' Dimensionals.

Kind & Caring Thoughts

It's Mojo Monday!!! Well, really Tuesday since I'm posting this card today (wink).

This card was my first non-standard card. It is great to use when you need a money card. The dimensions of this card are 8 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score at 4 5/16.

As promised here's another sneak peak of the
New 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog.

The flower is one of the stamps from the Kind & Caring Thoughts stamp set. This set comes with 12 stamps and it's a Hostess Level 3 set. You can get it for FREE by hosting a workshop totaling $500 PLUS you get 1 Hostess level 1 set and $60 in FREE merchandise.

Okay, okay so I know that $500 might sound like a lot of money and it is but, here is a great way you can guarantee your workshop to total $500. Host 2 workshops in 1 month with a total of 18 friends with a minimum purchase of $35 each. Now that's easy!

Okay, so back to the card. I used Bella Bleu DS paper (my favorite), sponged the borders with Bordering Blue and Soft Suede (NEW) ink. The sentiment in the bottle comes from a new set called Teeny Tiny Wishes. The punch is also new and it's called Modern Label.
Finally, I added satin ribbon, drew drops and blue roses from Prima Flowers I purchased at Michael's.

Tomorrow I will be working on my Copic Challenge #6 ~ Wood. Make sure to come back tomorrow for all the details on coloring with Copics.

Thanks for taking a look.

Today's card was made with: Stampin' Up! Very Vanilla and Bordering Bleu card stock,
Bella Bleu DS paper, Kind & Caring Thoughts stamp, Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment, Modern Label punch, satin ribbon, drew drops and paper roses, Bordering Blue and Soft Suede ink and daubers.

Strawberry Basket

Hey there! The sun finally peeked through the clouds today after an entire week of rain and it got me making this card. It's for the Whiff of Joy Challenge #34.

I used the Willow with strawberrybasket stamp for this card. I finally build the nerve to heat emboss her before coloring her in. I have been having trouble lately not getting the colors to bleed through the lines. I read in a post you can use clear embossing power to prevent the bleeding. It worked however, it was pretty hard to blend colors together especially for the hair. I think I'll try it a couple more times before I make my decision as to what technique is best.

Anyway, I used the colors on the DS paper to color this gal. Isn't she cute? And, wait until you see the new Whiff of Joy Stamp ~ Women's Delight Wedding and Baby Collection to be released June 14th! I already told my DH he has to get me this set. Take a look HERE for a preview of the set.

Well, it's been a long day and I better get some rest. I'll be sure to post another card before Monday. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for looking!

Today's card was made with: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango card stock, Designer Series paper from My Mind's Eye - Bloom & Grow, Whiff of Joy Strawberry basket stamp, Clear Embossing Powder, Copic Markers, Green Ribbon, Drew Drops, Paper Floral Embellishment from Forever in Time and Sewing machine.

Garden Window

I am a few days away from the Copic Creations Challenge #5 Clear and Transparent deadline and I did not want to miss it. My delay was that with all the stamps I have, I just could pick one that said, "use me". Well, today I took a drive to a scrap store my friend told me about and when I saw this stamp, I said to myself, "that's it".

This adorable window is from Impression Obsession and it's called Garden Window. Isn't it just adorable? I really enjoyed coloring this stamp.

I found the DS paper and roses at the store as well. The roses were ivory and I inked them up with my copic markers to match the flowers on the stamp. I left some ivory to add some contrast.

So, while on my way back from the scrap store, I was stopped by the police. I had no idea why he was stopping me since we were both stopped at the traffic light. Well, once the light turned green he pulled right behind me and turned on his lights. After pulling over nervously (never been stopped before), I was praying, "Lord, what did I do wrong?" Without saying anything other than asking me for my drivers license and registration, I was still PRAYING. When he got back from checking my record (none), he said that he had to give me a ticket for having a GPS. I was in complete SHOCK! "A GPS?!", I asked. Apparently, the state of NJ is now pulling people over and giving them tickets for having a GPS on their windshield.

So, what I thought was a lovely trip to the scrap store, ended up costing me more than I expected. I waited all this time to find a stamp for this challenge and I ended paying for it! I sure hope to win this challenge (wink)!!

Today's card was made with: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Brown card stock, DS paper from BOBUNNY a gift of love~Alissa Twirls, Window Garden stamp from Impression Obsession, Brown Ribbon and Paper Roses.

Razzle Dazzle

Here is another sneak peak of the Stampin' Up! 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog.

It's Mojo Monday and what better challenge to have when you can showcase a sneak peak of the new Stampin' Up! products.

This is one of the new Designer Series paper called Razzleberry Lemonade. The stamp coordinates with the DS paper and it's called Razzle Dazzle. I added Regal Rose and Earth Element card stock to go along with the new Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry card stock. Finally, I added Crushed Curry Ribbon for the finishing touches.

So, the million dollar questions is...what do you think? I have a few more new stamp sets I want to show you but, you'll have to wait until next week. I'll be posting a new set every Monday before the new launch begins. Meanwhile, make sure to come back to see my other card challenges.

Thanks for looking!

Noah's Ark

Hey there, I hope you had a fabulous weekend! The weather was finally perfect for sun bathing, swimming and barbecuing.

Here's a quick post for tonight...

I had a chance to sneak in and make a quick card for my DH's co-worker who just had twins.

The Noah's Ark image was my inspiration for this card. I used my copic markers to color these sweet little animals and ark. Once the image was colored in, I used Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue card stock to add layers.

Well, I better get back to the family. Make sure to come back tomorrow for Mojo Monday and a sneak peak of a new stamp set from the 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! Catalog.

Thanks for looking!

Today's Card was made with:
Stampn' Up! Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Whisper White card stock, Noah's Ark stamp from My Heart Stamps For You, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Ribbon, Button and Copic Markers.

"I always told the Lord, "I trust you. I don't know where to go or what to do, but I expect you to lead me." And He always did.
~Harriet Tubman (CA. 1820-1913)

This quote was in my devotional today. How ironically this morning while getting ready for the day, I thought how I need to trust in the Lord more. These past few days have been challenging (no work and kids home sick) and I keep asking God, what is Your plan for me?

After reading my devotional, I was once reminded that it is in His time and not mine. Although I may not like being home and out of work, there is a reason for this. He will reveal His plan on for me on His time. I just have to be patient and trust Him more.

I made this card for the Stampavie Challenge. This challenge was "A sketch for you". We had to create a card or any self made item using at least one Stampavie item using the provided sketch. Click HERE to view sketch.

My color inspiration came from
this DS paper I purchased from Scrap That 2. It as a single sheet from Moda for DaisyD's ~ Mt. Vernon Floral. I knew exactly what image from my Stampavie collection I was going to use. My Rose's Garden was the PERFECT match for this paper. Take a closer look and notice that the flowers on the DS paper are the exact flowers in the image. How cool is that?!

I colored this lil' girl once before and had just as much fun now as I did the first time I inked her up. She is so cute. The roses on the card are made of paper (purchased~not made). I would really love to learn how to make these roses since it looks so easy to do. I'm sure someone has a video on how to make these roses. If anyone has seen this video anywhere, please share. I would love to learn this technique. Meanwhile, I will be searching the web and if I find it, I will post it here.

Thanks for looking!

Today's card was made with: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Pacific Point, Real Red, Old Olive and Summer Sun card stock, SU Embrace Life stamp set, Sarah Kay~Rose's Garden clear stamp, Paper Roses and Leaf Punch from EK Success and Copic Markers.

It's Mojo Time!

Here is my take on yesterday's Mojo Monday Challenge. I haven't made a card like this in such a long time. When you need to make a quick card, this sketch always works with just about any DS paper.

I was up all night thinking what about what else I can add to the card. I thought about adding some stitching around the border, some brads or rhinestones. But, the more I thought about it, I kept thinking~keep it simple, clean and crisp.

The bible verse comes from Hebrew 11:1. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see". Isn't that true? I love this verse because it reminds me that I need to put my faith above all else.

I won this sentiment from Digiments a few weeks ago. When I was thinking about what I was going to add for this square, I looked through all my sentiments and this one kept coming up. I think it goes perfect with the DS paper. Speaking of DS paper, I purchases this sheet at the Scrap That 2 store in Burlington, NJ two weeks ago. It's a great store to visit if you love scrapbooking. I'm looking for a store that is more geared to card making/rubber stamping. Does anyone have a favorite store in Central Jersey they go to? Maybe I should just open my own store (wink).

Anyway, make sure to take a look at the great inspirations at Mojo Monday for this weeks sketch. There's a great prize for a lucky winner is you are up for the challenge.

Thanks for looking!

Today's card was made with: Stampin' Up! Whisper White, Basic Black and Taken With Teal card stock, DS paper from American Crafts~Metropolitan Karaoke, Digiment Sentiment, Ribbon, Embossing Folder~Swiss Dots and Teal Flower from Prima Flowers
